INTER-STATE FREIGHTS.
SYDNEY, March 21. The inter-State steamship companies will from to-day return to the normal freight rates that existed before the Newcastle strike. (Received 10.10 a.__). , "■ SYDNEY, this day. The question of reducing passenger fares to pre-strike rates was not discussed by the inter-State steam companies when dealing with the reduction in freights. In fact, it is in contemplation to retain the present fares permanently. lis does not refer to the rates between New Zealand and Australia, wliich have now been reduced to those ruling before the strike.
