TARIFF NEGOTIATIONS.
(Received 10 a.m.) WASHINGTON. March 20. America has given France a 25 per cent reduction on the tnrilT maximum. France concedes the minimum on certain iron and steel commodities, agricultural implements and ether leading goods. NKW YORK, March 19. Mr. W. S. Fiokling (Canadian Minister for Finance) has accepted President Taft's invitation to confer on the tariff question at Albany. GEKMAN TRADE ACTIVITY. (Received 8.35 a.m.) OTTAWA, March 20. Canada is appointing a commercial agent in Germany. Canadian papers report a great influx of commercial travellers, and state that thousands of circulars and letters have been received from German manufacturers.
