The invitation of the Tourist De-part-ment extended bo the Rotoraa Chamber ' of Commerce, asking them to nominate a memlber to represent Rotorua on the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board, has 'been declined. It seems that there is an objection generally entertained towards i the striking of an hospital rate, because I it is held to be a violation of the agreement under which control was ceded to the Department, in which it was specially stipulated that no rates other than "for library and fire prevention services should be made. At 9 a.m. to-morrow! All remnants of laces, ribbons, dress stuffs, velveteens and silks, at half marked prices, at Grey and Ford's, Ltd., Newton.—(Ad.) I
