CITY SCHOOLS SWIMMING CABNIVAL.

Last night at the Albert-street Baths the twelfth annual swimming carnival of the combined city schools was held in the presence of a large audience, consisting mostly of vociferous juveniles, and only a sprinkling of adults. There -were a large number, of entries In all classes, and some very close finishes resulted. The ability shown by the boys of all ages was remark--1 able, both as regards style and speed, and proves the wisdom of the Council In granting bathing facilities to the boys of the public schools. One of the most interesting displays of the evening was the exhibition of fancy diving given by Kronfeld, Joan, Simpson, Sluice, and Geddes, the members of the Waitemata Seagull Club.
