FINED FOR ENAMELLING LIVE CATS.
A curios case of cruelty to animals was Investigated at Newport this morning, and as a result a young man and two youths were fined twenty and ton shillings each. Pestered by cats at a cycle shop, they rigged up a bos as a trap, and baited it with meat and a ham bone. When caught, they painted the cats iwith enamel and turpentine and turned them loose. At least twelve cats had been treated in this way, and one was blind, .
