Parr, Esq., Chairman of the Auckland Board of Education, presiding, the following resolution was unanimously passed: —"That this meeting of citizens, having had fully explalued to it the alms and objects of the Auckland Musical and' Literary Competitions Society, desires to place on record Its full sympathy with the movement now being made to raise the standard of music, elocution, literature, and art in Auckland, and undertakes to give the society its cordial co-operation and support."
