AMUSEMENTS.

# - HIS .MAJESTY'S THEATER A large audience gathered at His Majesty's on Saturday evening to witness the farewell performance of J. C. Williamson's Dramatic Company, when the}' played "The Silver King" with all the artistry for which this company has gained such a well-deserved reputation. To-night His Majesty's will hold the Knyvett Indignation Meeting, and tomorrow evening Mr. Hayward will present his "All Pathe" picture show. OPERA HOUSE. Last' Saturday evening the Opera House was as packed, and the pictures were as good, as usual. A line dramatic piece, "The Restoration," showing the trouble caused by a husband's misunderstanding of liis wife's conduct in aiding the reconciliation of her cousin and her lover, is especially good. "The Sleeping Pills" is a picture in which the American Sherlock Holmes (-sick Cartel-) appears to confound the machinations of a gang of criminals, and provides plenty of excitement by confronting the gang's rei volvers in a drinking-den, and afterwards capturing them whiie milking a desperate swim across a river. "The Picturesque Pyrenees" is a highly interesting glimpse of a little-known corner of Europe. "The Theatre Pass" is a hilariously ludicrous film, depicting the antics of a street loafer who gets a pass into the stalls. "'The Vintage Season" is a delightful film, in which is shown the making of wine from the cutting of the grapes to the ] tasting of the raw vintage. ''The Mill" is a picture the tragic tone of which is greatly lost in the interesting glimpses j given of Dutch scenery and customs. Of the industrial pictures, ''How Pianos j Are Made" is the most interesting, and shows in detail the many processes and crafts that must go to the making of t.he instrument. Other pictures no less mteresting than those mentioned are ''The Fencing Match," "The Maharajah's Caprice," "The Legend of St. Michael's Mount," "Holland," "The Story of a Cigar," "The King's Command," and "An Attempt to Smash a Bank" These pictures, as their titles show, provide an interesting variety that should attract good audiences throughout the week. ROYAL ALBERT HALL. There was another large audience at the Royal Albert Hall on Saturday night, when the current programme was repeated. The same programme will be offered to-night. On Wednesday a new bill will be presented. THE TIVOLL Large audiences patronised both performances at the Tivoli on Saturday. To-night a new programme will be presented.
