AUCKLAND TACHTING ASSOCIATION. HEARTSEASE V. CELOX. The Auckland Yachting Association, after carefully considering the evidence offered before it, is of the opinion that the Heartsease"was not, within a reasonable time previous to 'the collision, in the position of an overtaking bout, and that the rule relating to meeting, crossing, and converging boats applied, and that, 'therefore, the Celox carrying her boom on the starboard side, and the Heartsease carrying her boom on the port side, it was the duty of the Celox to keep out of the way of the Heartsease (vide Rule 30, "International Yacht Racing Union"). NORTH SHORE YACHT CLUB. The North Shore Yacht Club held a cruising race on Saturday which created a great deal of interest between the competitors and their friends. White officiated as judge. The race was started at 2.50 p.m.. to a fairly even start, aud the wind making it a dead beat down to Kawau. it took the competing boats much longer than usual in covering; the course, the winner turning up in the well-known Mabakl.
