PEA-RIFLE FATALITY.

BOY SHOT DEAD. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, this day. While pig-hunting with pea-rifles at Ruapekapeka, an out-of-the-way region, on Thursday, two boys, named William Ross (14) and Clifford Tadman (13), wounded a pig seven miles from home. They were crawling through the scrub after the same, Ross leading, and Tadman behind, when the trigger of the rifle caught in the scrub, discharging the contents into the back of Ross' head, and causing instantaneous death.
