The stock of Now Zealand mutton on hand consists entirely of North Island, which is widely distributed aud pushed for sale. Art-rage price: North Island mutton, 3 5-Bd. Lamb.—The market Is quiet hut firm, and a better demand exists. The average price for New Zealand lamb, other than Canteris 5.U. Beef.—The market is firm, trat no advances. New Zealand hindquarters average illd; forequarlers, 2 7-Sd. Butter.—The market remains firm, although buyer* are holding back expecting prices to go lower. The price of choicest New Zealand butter Is 120/; Australian, 1W; Argentine, lib/; Danish, 127/• Siberian, 117/. Cheese.—Tho market is nrm with a hardening tendency, liuest New Zealand white cheese averaging Ju/U; coloured, SS/G. Hemp The market is lifeless. Prices are a.s follows:—Un spot, New Zealand ge>od fair £27, fair £20; Manila, fair current, £2(5 10/; forward shipment, good fair, £2tt 10/; fair £_o 10/; -la-illa, £_o 10/. The ontput of Manila hemp for the week was 20,000 bales. Cocksfoot.—The market "on spot" Is steady, and prices are ".veil maintained. The price of bright clean 171b New Zealand seed on spot Is 74/.
