The Appropriations Committee of the United Ntaites Legislature recommends the allocation o-f £1,400,000 on fortifi-ea--ions in the United States, and insular possessions for expenditure in 1911, or £500,000 less than the total voted for 1910. The committee recommends a vote of £200.000 for sea coast batter-e----at the Philippines, and £50,000 for power p!_nt, searchlights, and foj-tifiea-_ons at the Islands.
