ELECTRICAL POWER.
CCOvFEREXCE AT XAPIER. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) XAPIER. Friday. A conference of the Joint Committee, appointed by the Borough Councils of Gisbome. Wairoa. Hastings, and Napier, to investigate a-nd report on the question of establishing a joint hydroelectric generating station at Waikarenioana, was held in Xapier this afternoon. A report, prepared by Mr. Geo. >"eUon, who represents Xapier, -was ]aid before the meeting, which, after a lengthy discussion, passed the followin" resolution:—''That this Conference rttommends that each local authority affected should take the possibilities of the Waikaremoana electric power scheme into its favourable consideration, and that a further conference should ut a<ila in a xocnth/E iiia<?."
