HUNTLY MIXERS' CONTRIBUTION. At a mass meeting of the Waikato Miners' Union held in the Volunteer Hall, Mr. J. Fulton, president, in the chair, the position of the Newcastle miners and the imprisonment of the leaders was fully discussed. Speakers expressed great indignation at the treatment nieted out to the strike leaders, and it was decided to remit £ 150 direct to Newcastle to assist those in distress. The following resolution was unanimously carried: —"'That we, the members of the Waikato Coal Minors and Industrial Union of Workers, enter our most emphatic protest against the methods adopted "by the Wade Government in sending strike leaders to gaol, and also in their attempt to abolish the right of free speech in times of industrial disputes or troubles. We deplore the fact that the maximum penalty was enforced that the law allows, seeing that it was the first offence of the appellants. And we further call upon the workers of Australasia to organise the forces of labour in the political as well as tie industrial field to overthrow the capitalistic system and to take over for the benefit of the workers and the community at large, those co-operations and companies which are at present held by capitalists." A vote of thanks to the chairman, closed a. most enthusiastic meeting.
