OBJECT LESSON FROM AFRICA. CAPETOWN, January 20. The Earl of Selborne (High Commissioner for South Africa), at a festival given by the German Club of Johannesburg, said every German coming to South Africa was an additional source of strength to the British. The Germans in South Africa absolutely intermixed with the British, which led to mutual understanding, but their compatriots in Europe were less fortunately placed and remained in dancrwrous ignorance of each other-
