CITY ELECTRICAL SCHEME.
LO4.N OF £225,000 TO BE RAISEDL
The City Council last night adopted without discussion the recommendation of the Council in committee on the report of Mr. Wyllie, electrical .engineer, submitting an estimate of the cost of the proposed power station, near the Railway wharf, viz., buildings and site, boiler .house equipment, £26,100; engineroom , equipment, £55,500; sub-sCationa equipment, >£ 10,000; (mains, ! £46,000; tools, instruments, etc, £S00; floating loan and contingencies, £10,000; total, £215,000; making the total capital, of the undertaking £250,000, which is expected to be sufficient to meet the demands of the next five years. Also, the motion of Councillor Entrican, seconded by Councillor Mackay: "!Chat the scheme contained in the .Electrical Engineer's report be adopted, and that the Council take steps to forthwith- obtain the authority jof _jthe_ ratepayers -to reiie * loai of -";: " : ;
