The Hon. Sir Bofcert Stout, Chief.'Justice of 2few Zealand, is reported to be progressing very favouratlyi 'after his recent operation.
.Mr. H. Barry Coney, ofAuckland, who has been studying singing in London during the past year or two; intends returning .to Auckland, to take up rest, dence- there as a teacher 'of singing. Mrl Coney has.been made an associate of the Boyal: Academy of Music, and local representative at: Auckland for the Acaeemy: .He sails for New Zealand on Sevember 12, by the Omrah, via Suez. MeNab, late Minister of 'Lands, 1 has taken up residence at Sutton, in Surrey, and within easy reach of London. He is pursuing at the Record Office in Chancery Lane his researches into the early history of New Zealand, and will shortly visit Paris on a similar quest. Messrs. A. T. Harry Pittar and Walter D. Pittar are two Aiicklanders who have boldly set out ro conquer London. They arrived in the Malwa six months ago, and now each night in the Strand may be seen in letters of blazing light the legend, "Pittar Brothers, Dental Chambers." The two brothers have taken premises in Walter House, opposite the "Tivoli," and fitted up rooms -which, they claim, are the largest and most up-to-date of the kind in the United Kingdom. But this is only a. beginning. By degrees they propose to open other branches In London and the provinces. Owing to a recent loss, lEr. Harry Pittar is leaving shortly via Marseilles and Sydney on a flying visit to l\ew Zealand, but he intends returning to London as soon a3 possible. .
