Heart disease is supposed to have been the cause. SOUTH ISLAND TRUNK RAILWAY. BLEJCHEM, this day. The suggestion of the Prime Minister to establish a State-owned ferry service 'between Wellington and Lyttelton. was dkcussed by the Maryborough Chamber of Com-meTce last niglrt, and the folio-w----ing resolution was passed: "That this Cbani'bpir views with alarm the suggestion to establish a ferry service between Wellington and Lyttelton, and the consequent postponement of tbe South Island Main Trunk railway line, the progress of whioh has been so slow, and desires to impress on ti-e Government the necessity for the early completion of the line in the interest of the dis-tri-ct and the Dominion generally. The Chamber urges that a substantial sum be placed on the Estimates for the immediate extension of the railway."
