BOWLING.
Last Saturday was the first day of the present season upon which anything like decent bowling could be enjoyed, and the brotherhood of Auckland" and its environs took occasion accordingly to roll up to their respective haunts in top numbers. With the opening of Waitemata green, the only remaining clubs to begin operations* were Richmond, Dominion-road, and Stanley, and of these Richmond and Dominion-road set the bowl trundling on Tuesday, so that the season is now in full swing in and around Auckland. The new green at Dominion-road, which is reported to be in wonderfully good order for a baby ground, and the Richmond green were both opened under the happiest auspices, while on most of \ the other bowling places a good day's trundling was put in by votaries "of the "wood," to the thorough satisfaction and enjoyment of the participants.
