BOWLING.
GREY LYNN BOWLING CLUB. The Grey Lynn Bowling Club will hold at "At Home" on Wednesday next, 17th lust, the occasion being the opening of the green to Wednesday players. As this function had to be postponed on the 3rd owing to the weather, all those who received Invitations are cordially requested to attend on the 17th Inst. A special Invitation is issued to Wednesday players of any club. DOMINION ROAD GREEN. The Dominion Road Bowling Club opened their green for play on Tuesday, and it proved to be In capital order. The following games were played:— Meikle, Bullen, Bartlett, Gordon (skip)— 14, v. Williame, Garrett, Burrow, Sayers (skip)—2o. Y\oods, Gladding, Burrow, Gordon (skip) —23, v. Prince, Williams, Blackwelil, Brvden (skip)—2s. Skeltou, Burrow. Bailey, Farmer (skip)— 22, v. Guthrie, Prince, Taylor, Dr. Molr (sklp)-27. Woods, Preston, McLeod (skip)—lß, v. Bartlett. Preston, Gordon (skip)—lS. During the afternoon the members presented Mr Gordon, the green superintendent, with a handsome case of pipes and cigarette holders. Iv making the presentation, the President (Mr Brydeu) spoke of the most valuable "work rendered tie club by Mr Gordon. Mr Gordon thanked the members for their gift, but assured them he valued their appreciation of his work still more. Hearty cheers were given for Mr Gordon.
