THE FATAL TRANCE. (Received 5.40 ajn.) NEW YORK, November 11. The hypnotist Everston. who was arrested on a charge of manslaughter after the death of a man named Simpson, whom he threw into a cataleptic trance and was unable to arouse, frantically assured the doctors who made the post mortem on Simpson that the iatter was still in a cataleptic trance. He was permitted to go to the mortuary with a number of hypnotists, who continued their experiments for several hours. Finally the doctor ordered the hypnotists away. The post mortem showed that death was due to rupture of the aorta, due to Everston jumping on Simpson's chest.
