There is no business whatever to record in the local grain market. The only demand is for oats, and growers are not offering, so that nothing further can he done for export, though, to take advantage of the London market, it is necessary to ship before the wool season commences. In wheat it does not appear as if there will be any more business till after the November holidays. TALLOW. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., have received the following" cablegram from their London house: •Tallow: We quote present spot values for the following descriptions of tallow— Good mutton. 33,3 per cwt: good beef, 31/9 per cwt; mixed, 31/ per cwt. Market firm."
