DONCASTER'S FLYING WEEK.
SUCCESSFUL FRENCH FLIGHTS. (Received 8.15 a.m.) LOXDOX, October 17. The opening of the aviation week at Doncaster, fixed for Friday, had to be postponed until Saturday owing to frequent showers and high winds preventing flights. The weather was fine yesterday, and the aviation trials commenced in the presence of an immense crowd. M. Delagrangp, aboard a Bleriot monoplane covered 54 niilos in 6}m. M. Sonner, on a Farman biplane, was flying at the same time. Great enthusiasm was displayed. Mr S. F. Cody, the British Army aeroplarast, after "successful trial flights, caught the wheel of his biplane on the ground in turning a corner. The aeroplane overturned, and Mr Cody was flung to the ground, with the result that he was cut about the head. The injuries are not serious, and Mr Cody hopes to fly on Tuesday.
