DISOBEDIENT SEAMEN.

Four men off the American barque Kaiulani, now lying out in the stream, appeared at the Court this morning, before Mr. Kettle, to answer charges of having disobeyed the commands of the captain, and refused duty. The men explained that they had been refused 24 hours' leave. It was explained by the American Consul (Mr Prickett) that the question of leave was one for the discretion of the captain in a foreign port. Mr. Haekett, whoappeared for the men, said it would only be reasonable if the men were allowed the leave thagr askedi but the captain said it-would not be convenient. After endeavouring to effect an amicable settlement, without success, the magistrate said he Would a sentence of a month in each case and would order the men to be put on board the ship when she sailed, which, the captain said, would be in the course of a few days.
