FACTORY-ROAD, MECHANICS' BAY.
iTo the Editor.! ' Sir, —Would you kindly allow mc space 'in your valuable paper to state a few facts re Factory-road, Mechanics' Bay. To put it plain, this thoroughfare is a disgrace to the body that is accountable for its condition. I have been a driver for years, and have travelled over a good deal of Australia and part of NewZealand, but I have never yet come across a piece of rOad in such a disgraceful state, especially considering that it is in the heart of a city like Auck° land, and is so convenient for the general public travelling to and from work, not to say anything about the number of men who have to travel on it from morning till night, and the poor dumb animals that have to wade through its quagmire. I could add 115 names of men who are working within this road, and it is only about 300 yards in length, who would join in this protest.—l am, etc., A. JOBSON, Carter.
