At a largely attended meeting of the business men of Aratapu, forty being present, it was unanimously resolved: "That the selection of the western route for the North Auckland railway by the Government is in the best interests of the Dominion, and meets with the heartiest approval of this meeting, and that the Minister be urged to push on the construction as rapidly as possible."
