' ' The manager telegraphed this afternoon:—Secured some splendid looking stbnefrom, the main-reef, showing strong dabs very freely. Forwarding samples to Thames School of Mines. . .GOLDEN PAH. '(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) COROMANDEL, this day. Most encouraging prospects are met with almost dally In this mine, where operations imder the management of Mr E. F. Reynolds are being pushed ahead. In the rise on the Venue reef and branch veins strong gold is visible-In some of the ore brofceu out during the past few days. OLD KAPANQA. : . COEOMaNDEL, this day. The. manager put.on six men in th.e.Ol'l Kapanga mine yesterday to clear out a drive to get under the Albion reef frora which the tributers recently had good re suits in the upper levels. TAILINGS DEPOSIT. • (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) PAEROA, this day. Two representatives of the Paeroa-Waihi Gold Extraction Company were visitiug Paeroa yesterday obtaining samples of the tailings deposited on the river banks. MINE MANAGERS' REPORTS.

Rising Sun.—The low level is in 218 ft, and about another 24ft will finish the contract. A better class of country for working has been met with, it being a good sandstone, with numerous bands of mineral.

Talrua Golden Hills.—The new low level Is In 112 ft. The class of country Is all that can be desired,' and any reefs met ivltii should carry good valuee. No. 3 level: A day or two should see this cleared of the broken quarte, when the extension of the leading stope north and south will be undertaken and continued so long as we have storage accommodation. There Is already In paddock over 2000 tons.

Tairua Reefs.—The level Is now In 285 feet, leaving another 45 feet to complete the contract. The manager reckons the reef should be met with in about 120 feet from the present face. He recommends letting another contract for 100 feet more or less.

Golden Belt.—ln the Bluff section prospecting proves that the run of gold is going in that direction.. Som e of the ore will be sent to the battery during the next month to test its value.

LANIGAVS ANTIMONY AND MINERALS, LIMITED.

The mine manager reports that y ery Important . developments have taken place throughout the workings on 'Skeleton Hill. Three well-defined seams of antimony ore, varying In. width from 4 to 8 inches, of very. high - grade ore, and assaying 69 per cent metallic antimony, have been touched in the floor of the drive. »7ft from the mouth of the drive, a winze has been sunk on ore, to-a'depth, of 12ft. and from this level a small ' prospecting drive has been driven along the course of the reef, 32 feet N, 40 W. course. The seams showing here are very well defined, end small patches of needle antimony have been met. Underfoot there is a small quantity of sulphide ore. ' When these have been, thoroughly proved, I will sink on the reef, to test Its value at a depth. The top workings show a seam of ore 11 inches wide. I. do not expect to meet the junction of any of these seams until I have driven along the hangingwall another 60ft. Progress is considerably retarded, owing i> . the volume of water to be contended with. The workings in this Bjll I expect shortly to prove very satisfactory.
