(From Our Own Correspondent.) The monthly meeting of the Town Board was held on Monday, Mr. A. WilUs (chairman) presiding. It was arranged to open the road, as reI quested by Mr. Arthur Richardson, to give Mm access to land lately purchased from Mr. Carpenter, aud that notices be sent to present occupiers of adjacent lands to rei move obstructions and clear their half of ithe road, i The Board decided to put ln a cesspit to minimise any further danger of damage by the overflow of surface water on Wairoa I road. i The chairman and Mr. Alexander were I appointed delegates to the Manukau County ! Conference. It was decided to write Mr. Lang, and take preliminary steps towards raising a loan of £600 to carry out extensive improvements. The clerk was instructed to write to the Reglstrar-Oeneral pointing out the Inconvenience of the stationmaater acting as registrar of births, marriage, and deaths, as at the station there is no privacy. Accounts amounting to £56 0/8 were passed for payment. I A very successful sale of the 21 years leases of a number of town endowments was held last week by Mr. Nolan, quarteracre sections realising up to 34/ each for building sites. The first of a very enjoyable series of socials ln connection with the English Church was held in the Public Hall last week, when about 150 persons were present.
