(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WAIHI. Thursday. Chris. Cornthwalte, foreman of tbe Walhl Company"s WaiUi battery, received painful injuries to Ills face and arms the other day, by boiling zinc spluttering when he was In the act of pouring it out. At the half yearly meeting of the Pride of Waihi Lodge of Druids last evening, the following officers were elected for the ensuing term:—A.D., Bro. Eruest; V.A.D.. Bro. Matthews; secretary. Bro. Box; treasurer, Bro. Hunter; Lβ., Bro. Eyles; 0.G., Bro. Collins; F.A.A.D.B.'s, Bros. Brooks and Jellett; V.A.D.B's. Bros. Casey and Hackett; M.S., Bro. Hansen. P.D.P. Bro. Malcolmson Installed the newly elected officials. Bro. W. Boys was presented with a P.A. collar and diploma, and Bro. Jackson with a P.A. diploma. The balance-sheet showed an increase of £74 Id the sick and funeral fund, and an increase of £14 in the management lund. The credit to the fund was reported at £323 15/3.
