' MANAGEMENT CdMMEfcEEE, Tfie 1 management committee of. the Auckland Rugby Union met at the Sports Club last night. Present: Messrs- M. J. Sheahan (chairman), R. H: Froiide. C. P. Stichbury S-. W. Sonlerfield, F. J. Ohlson, and C. V. Langsford. Sonth Auckland Union.-—Tie New Zealand and Thames Unions wrote with, regard to the boundaries of the South. Auckland TTfilon. The new union's boundaries included' Hikntala, and the Ne-w Zealand Union pointed out that the Hikutala was in. the boundary of the Thames Union. The Thameta Union- also stated that Hikntaia was in their district, the boundaries of which were the Thames district. The secretary reported he had J replied to the- Ne<v Zealand Union to the above effect, and his action was endorsed Tarsnaki V. Auckland.—The Taranaki Union wrote, suggesting a special match betweten their reps, and Auckland, at the close of the team's southern tonr, ©a conditions similar to those of 1907. It was decided to accede to the request, the date of the match to be decided later. Kawhia Amllates.—Jfr 3. G. Ward, secretary of the Kawhia Union, wrote acquainting the A.E.U. of the formation of the union, and asking for particulars as to affiliation. It was decided to grant affiliation to the new union, and to forward the necessary information. Match at Whangarei Declined.—The Whangarei Union applied for a match at Whangarel with the Auckland B team at an early date. It was decided to reply that the. Auckland Union regretted its Inability to accede to the request, but would be pleased to send the Junior reps, to Whangarei Instead.' Hanlopoto Union.—The application of the Maiiiopoto Union, one of the districts included in the South Auckland Union without Its consent, for affiliation to the A.R.U.,. was granted. Poverty Bay Union.,—The secretary of the Poverty Bay Union telegraphed accepting August 14th as the date tec the match with Auckland. Lease of Grounds Declined.—Messrs- Allson and Alison, solicitors, wrote offering the lease of grounds at Epsom. THe offer was declined. . About Players.—A. E. Freeman was granted permission, on the application of tne Newton Club, to play in the first Junioi. grade. • A Newton senior player, oMered off the.-field at North Shore tin Saturday last for using bad language, was dlsnnaliffed until May 1910. For playing a disqualified player whose time had not expired, Clarence were disallowed their win over Grafton In the fourth grade last Saturday, the match being awarded to Grafton. G. Goodhue, late of Sydney, was given peVmlßslon to play for Xewton. H. Elliott and S. O. Clark late of the Athletic Club, Wellington, and A. E. Julian, late of "Waikato, were, on the application of the Ponsonby Club, allowed" to play in tire club's senior grade. A. Nicholson, A. Doran, and 0.
