SCULLING CHAMPIONSHIP.
FINAL WEEK'S TRAINING.
BOTH IN GOOD FORM.

Favourable weather conditions have prevailed for tie scullers during the past few days, and they have been able to get in some good rowing on the championship course, which is admirably sheltered, and, -with water almost like glass, both champion and ex-champion have been very busy. On Tuesday afternoon Arnst and Fogwell had a big spurt. The champion let his pacer take a big break, some 15 lengths, and then set off after him. With such a start, Fogwell held a little in reserve till the champion got up, the pair finishing at a very solid pace. Much the same -work was done yesterday and to-day, with time spent practising starting and sprinting. The long rows serve to show the wonderful strength and staying powers of the champion, who usually appears to finish his heavy task full of rowing.
