NORTH ISLAND EGG-LAYING COMPETITION.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) CAMBRIDGE, Monday. The third week of the third competition promoted by the North Island Egg-laying Competition Association, Ltd., at Cambridge, was concluded ou Friday last. The following particulars are supplied by Mr A. B. Trythall, secretary to the competition:— The number of eggs laid during the week was 261, being an average of 3.72 eggs per pen: Total number of eggs laid since Ist May Is 052, being an average of 9.31 eggs per pen. Highest Layings for the Week.—Championship class: W G. Goodwin, White Leghorns, 1L Light breeds: W. Cook, White Leghorns, 16; W. G. Goodwin, White Lexhorns, 16; "Raglan County Chronicle," White Leghorns, 14; M. Roberts, Brown Leghorns, 1-4: A. H. Padman, White Leghorns, 14. Heavy breeds: P. J. Martell, Black Orpingtons, 12: J. I. Whitehouse, Black Orpingtons, 8; W. D. Shepherd, Black Orpingtons, 5. Leading pens to date are.—Championship class: W. G. Goodwin, White Leghorns. 26. Light breeds: J. I.
