PROFESSOR LOWRIE'S SERVICES.

Professor Lowrie, formerly director of Lincoln College, Canterbury, who was asked to accept the Professorship of Agriculture at the Sydney University, declined, owing to having made a five j-ears' engagement with the Government of Westralia to fill the position of Director of Agriculture. The University offered a ten years' engagement at a thousand a year, the same salary as Weatralia.
