PROFESSOR LOWRIE'S SERVICES.
(Received 10.13 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. Professor Lowrie, formerly director of Lincoln College, Canterbury, who was asked to accept the Professorship of Agriculture at the Sydney University, declined, owing to having made a five j-ears' engagement with the Government of Westralia to fill the position of Director of Agriculture. The University offered a ten years' engagement at a thousand a year, the same salary as Weatralia.
