A large number of Good Templars a sembled on Thursday evening i n m Foresters' Hall, Newton, when the Sta of Newton Dodge tendered a welcom to the visiting delegates to the Gran* Lodge. **

The G.C., Bro. R. Wilson (HastniEsW G.V.T., Sister Mardon (Christchureh 5 G.T., Bro. A. B. Thompson (Wellington . and G.M., Bro. G. Clark (Auckland) duly received and responded. Bro! Wfl son was originally a prominent member of the entertaining lodge, but las beea an active member in the south for th past ten years. A programme of songs 1 and recitations by representatives of tha eight Auckland lodges was enjoyed, to. gether with light refreshments. Frateri nal greetings from lodges in varioJ parts of the Dominion were received a n 4 reciprocated, the proceedings tenninatana at 10.50 p.m. Last evening a similar function was held by the Ark of Eden Lodge, in the Fire Brigade Hall, EdeiS terrace. The series of entertainments will be continued wiTh a tram ride .on two double-decker cars around the city and to Cornwall Park this afternoon. To-morrow a service in connection with the Auckland Brotherhood will be MA iat the East-street Hall. Bro. D. Q, Cameron (of Dunedin, G.C. Templar) ' Bro. E. H. Taylor (Past G.C. Templar) and others will address the meeting* In the evening the Rev. A. N. Scotter will conduct service at Pitt-street Metho dist Church, members attending jj, r9J galia.
