SUDDEN DEATH.

WHANGAREI, Monday.
News was received in Whangarei late this afternoon from Maungakaramea that Mr. C. E. Hayward, of that place, had been found dead on the road this morning. He was returning home in a sulky, and had evidently been taken with a sudden seizure. He was lying on one of the cushions in the road. The remains were conveyed to the home of his son, Mr. John Hayward, pending the advent of the coroner. The news came as a shock, Mr. Hayward being well-known and respected in the di£ *!„&*• He had been a resident of Maungakaramea for a _H_khßJ of yeare.
