It will be remembered that at tie time of the recent mining crisis at Huntly the Auckland Employers' Association, in general meeting, passed a resolution expressing "very hearty approval of the attitude adopted by four officials of the Taupiri Coal Company in having loyally stood by their employers under such adverse circumstances," and tdacided to show their appreciation in a practical manner. A subscription list was opened, and the sum of £200 has been subscribed by members of the, association and other, admirers of. the stand taken up by the men. This amount will be presented'to the recipients at a meeting to be held in the - rooms on Thursday afternoon, the 4th instant, in the presence of a body of the employers of the province.
