THE PREMIER INTERVIEWED.
LIGHTING THE COASTS. IMPORTATION OF DOMESTICS. TELEPHONE CHARGES. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. Sir Joseph Ward passed through Christchurch to-day on his way to Invercargill. The Prime Minister states that the recommendation of the Coroner's jury on the wreck of the Penguin, as to the desirableness of erecting a light on Tongue Point, will come up in due course for consideration by Cabinet, probably at a ' meeting next Wednesday. As to the Government granting free passages for domestics from Great Britain the Prime Minister said he did not think there was any chance of doing more than was done at present. He considered that lif the Government contributed towards the cost of passages, they were doing their part.
