Comment on the proposed deviation of the TNiorth Auckland Main Trunk Une is (says our Whangarei correspondent) still rampant in the district. At Maungakavamea the opinion is expressed that a large amount of labour will have to be done by the engineers and surveyors to satisfy the Northern Wairoa deviation agitators before they will be finally silencod; and also, that a fight will take place in tho House on the future attempt to repeal tlio Railways Authorisation Act recently passed by Parliament, when Maungakaramea was fixed as an objective.
