ONEHUNGA MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
The fortnightly, sitting of the Onehunga Magistrate's Court was held this morning. Mr. H. W. Northcroft, S.M., presided.
Borough Contractor.— J. W. Stockley, Borough contractor, was charged with causing a nuisance during the discharge of .his duties as night soil contractor on February 5, 1909. Mr. H. Yockney, Town Clerk, appeared on behalf of the Borough Council. Defendant pleaded guilty, and was fined 20s. and coats, 7s. The Magistrate reminded defendant that this was his third offence, and he had exhausted the clemnecy of the Court. If defendant came before him again and was convicted he would be fined the maximum penalty and not the minimum.
Civil Cases. — Onehunga Borough Council v. M. Carmody, claim £1 2s. 6d. for rates due on March 31st, 1908. Judgment by default with costs, 3s. Borough Council v. Alls worth, claim fll 19s. Id. for two years' rates. Judgment by default with 15s. costs.
