EXPLOSION AT SEA.
EMPKEZA'S CAPTAIN BADLY INJURED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent) KAIPARA HEADS, this day. 'Mr. Sinclair, chief officer of the barque Empreza, which arrived at Ponto (Kaipara Heads) on Sunday, reports that on the 22nd February, by an explosion of the ship's magazine, containing the blue lights, detr/iators, and other combustibles, Captain John Bushell, master of the Empreza. was badly burnt and otherwise injured. He has been confined to his berth from that date, and the vessel was brought over by the chief officer, arriving at the bar on Saturday night. Captain Bushell will be conveyed to the Hospital to-day.
