ELLEESLIE TRAINING NOTES.
The weather was very disagreeable for training operations at EJlerslie this mornIng, rain falling throughout, making the tracks sloppy. All the fast work was done on the sa.nd and grass, which, all things considered, were iv good order. i\ Hill was first out, and sent Darkness a mile on the sand, Bluerocket assisting over the last five furlongs, the mile taking 1.57 2-5. Kapurangi alone sprinted five furlongs on the grass in 1.7 3-5, Censure running a furlong less on the same track in 54 3-ss. Mark Time pleased better than Rarata alone galloped live "furlongs on the grass in 1.5 4-5, Coromandel covering a furlong less of the same track in ols. a distance L'tonia got to the cud of In 52 2-js. Hard Rock was not asked to do his best to cover a round of the grass in 2.0 1-3. Manapouri pleased better than Dainty over six furlongs on the grass in 1.21 l-o, a distance which Advocate and Star Rose covered on the sand in 1.18 S-o, the former going the easiest at the finish, i'ohutu alone ran seven furlongs on the grass in 1.34. Silent in 1.21, finishing together. Tuku Tuku. Itoselike, and the Kiteroa filly spurted three furlongs on the grass hi 41 1-0, finishing abreast.
Cruidwife, Loongana, Delegate, I.eonator, Haldane, Rauparaha, and a number of others were out, and did useful work.
After breakfast l'ukeuui ran a round of the grass in 1.39. Escaniillo alone spurted seven-furloug post, in o2 2-ss, Explosive and the Strowau gelding (aking 545, and Lord Crispin 56 2-5 to do a similar journey. The Bother filly covered three furlongs on the grass in 425. a distance which lniprimus beat The Heathen over in 3.95.
Rinilock finished better than San Paulo at ttie end of a round of the grass Id 2.1 Waihuka was going better than Tariiia when four furlongs on rue grass were corered in 52 4-ss, a journey which Kffulgence beat Sunshade over in Do 4-3s. Waihekau alone ran a round of tUe grass in 2.1 3-5, Royal Shot taking 2.S for a similar task. A lot of others also esercised.
Luscombe was sent a round of the school Ing hurdles, jumping well.
