President Roosevelt estimates the unemployed at fifteen per cent of the total ' polL He believes the majority of them will vote for Mr. Debbs, the Socialist candidate. o r for Mr. Hxagen, the nominee of Mr. W. B_ Hearst's new National party. I I ELECTION "GBATT." A BANK'S COHTB.IBUTION. (Received 8.47 a.m.) XEW YORK, October 20. A committee of the depositors of the recently suspended National Bank at Waynesburg, Pennsylvania, discovered that a cheque written in pencil on the ; blank side of an official paper had been cashed by the bank. The committee alleges that £34,000 sterling of the bank's funds was expended ' during one election to secure the success ■of the Republican candidate for a jndgship. President Roosevelt is intensely shocked, and has ordered the acceleration of the trial of the former president of the bank.
