ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS. [ The Primitive Methodist Sunday School, | Newmarket, concluded its anniversary celebration last evening. The church was fiHed rwith people, and a capital programme was submitted as follows: —Gramaphone selee- j Uoo* by Mr. Moody; address by Rev. G. Cie-; meat; solos by the Misses Underwood and Bitlman; trio In -Maori. Misses Young and I friend; violin solo by Mr. P. Dlniery (encored): reading and recitation by Mr. Peters. Mr. A- Evans, superintendent, read the re-. ports, which showed that the school was 1 numerically and financially prosperous. The •Rev. W. S- Potter presided, and referred to the useful work cone., and complimented Mr. G. Mason on his official training of the scholars in their singing- Ladies of the congregation supplied refreshments, and I votes of thanks closed a successful gathering. PARNELL SCHOOL COMMITTEE. The monthly meeting cf -he Parnell Sebool Committee was hi_d last evening. 1 There were present: Mr. Lusk (chairman), I Rev. Simpson. Messrs. Sisson. Speight, | Bdgcumbe. Frayling. and Bines (secretary), j Tne headmasters monthly report showed. I that the roll number was 664. and the •average attendance 606.1. for the qnarter I ending September 30. At the end of last j week (October 161 the number on the roll j was 682. and the attendance 62+ for the j week. This is a record far the school. The . recent addition to the infant school build- ' ing is much appreciated by the teacberß in 1 that department, and the infants are now , comfortably accommodated. The committee decided to arrange a concert to raise funds for the annual picnic, which takes place on December 9. It was agreed to hold the ! concert on Friday, November 27. Messrs. .| R B. Lusk. FrayUng. Speight, Asbury, and ' Bines were appointed as a committee to ! make all necessary arrangements.
