WINTER SHOW SITE.
For some considerable time past the Auckland Agricultural and Pastoral Association have been looking for a suitable sit-e upon to which to erect buildings for the purpose of holding winter exhibitions. The sub-eonrmittee appointed to inquire have obtained an option over two sites, either of which would be suitable for the purposes required. It i≤ considered that in the first instance about an acre will provide sufficient stall and floor spa<-<\ and in the event of more being required, probably a spacious gallery wo-ild br> axi4<\i to the exhibition buildings. It i.« anticipated that, in addition to the Association's fixtures,' flower, dog. and poultry shows, etc., -would be held, also promenade concerts, band contests, etc.. and the buildings might also be used by athletic and football clubs for training purposrs. It is propound that the sum required to cover the cost of .site and buildings be provided by means of debentures, and so far the project has been well received. Thp. following resolution, along with recommendations from the Executive, -will be submitted to an extraordinary general meeting of members next Friday, the 23rd inst.:—"That the members of the Auckland Agricultural and Pastoral Association do hereby adopt the provisions of the Agricultural and Pastoral Societies* Amendment Act, 1003. and do hereby consent to the borrowing by, the Association from time to time of any sum or EiiniK of money not exceeding- in the aggregate £5000, to be applied for the following purposes: The purchase of land and the ereciiou of bunaings lor the purpose of enabling the Association to hold winter shows or exhibitions and for all or any other purposes of the Association."
