THE TIRED BURGLARS
A burglary of a somewhat amusing description is reported from St. Helens, where. In the early hours of an August morning, a constable fonntl three men drum; and a Bleep in bed at the residence of the town clerk, Mr W. H. Andrew, who wan away on holiday. About half-past oue o'clock police constable Rameden, on examining the honsc, found a window broken at the back. He went inside and saw that the place had been ransacked. On going upstairs he found the three men in bed, and, help having been procured, they were taken into custody though they were Inclined to resist being disturbed from their slumberß. Subsequently they were remanded for .houeebrenking and ateaHna £10 wortn of goods. , The prisoner? belone to the town.
