wfvimiNiiwu AUCKLAND CENTRE. The second annual meeting of the Auckland centre of the New Zealand Amateur I Swimming Association was held at the j [V.M.C.A. rooms last night. Present: Messrs. I .G. H. Katterps (Tiramea Club), J. J. Mulvi- ■ hill, <D. Stewart, t. McCarthy (Wafteniata : Clnb), ±>. Hendeason, a lid I». C. Gi>»Mns (V.M.C.A. Club). Mr. Katterns prei.ded. The annual report and balance-sheet for the eeason 1907-8 eongratu'.ared the ceiLire on the work accomplished, and on the staid cf affliirs as shown by the rvalaflco-she'et. The clu'be comprising tne tenrte during tae past season held numerous galas, which were always successful as social gatherings, and gbherally -so financially. The value of the prizes offered for competition during the seasons 1007-8 amounted, to £134. The centre's gala was a prouoiiiioed success. Bofh events were woa by Mai?jiin.
