The fishermen of Auckland are anxious to haye a safe anchorage allotted for their boats while in port. In a letter read'at the Harbour. Board this afternoon, asking for the hearing of a deputation upon this subject, the fact was emphasised that Freeman's Bay was bow too shallow for 'an anchorage, and they therefore asked for a place to the east of No. 4 jetty where about 200 fishing smacks ■would require to b<3 mcored in .Weijf side by side.
