1 GREr LYNN. j The Grey Lynn Borough Council met last . night. Present: The Mayor (Mr George i payers), Councillors W. 11. Smith k ADonald, 11. Schofleld, W. Murray, W. J. Holdsworth, J. 11. Muldoon, G. J. Garland, W. Dirnery, A. Creamer. Poisoning Rats.—The Town Clerk, Auck- ' land, wrote stating, in reply to a letter l sent, it was intended to poison the rats ; before slaughtering, ceased at the abattoirs: * Fire Brigade.—it was agreed to donate s £25 to the volunteer fire brigade. Finance.—Accounts totalling £371 19/ . were passed for: payment. Lamps.—lt was resolved to order six new lamp posts, to be allocated later on. l Numbering the Houses.—Mr Stanton . waited upon the Conncll to urge that the houses iv the borough be numbered as speedily as possible. The Mayor said there was no laxity, on the part of the Council. . It had been decided to have the work done, m . and the money had been allocated for that purpose. The Town Clerk said the work ,' would be proceeded with very shortly.
