MISS OARREE MOORE'S -HUSBAND. INTERVIEWS WITH THE PARTIES. SYDNEY, Oct. 6. The sequel to Miss Carrie Moore's marriage has caused a sensation here. The plaintiff in the breach of promise action against Mr P. P. Bigwood is Miss. Ivy Salvin, who is a woman of about ' 23 years of age. In the course of an interview to _ay, i Miss Salvin stated that Mr Bigwood definitely on several occasions told her that he would marry her, and she had | every reason to believe that he would be as good as his word. They first met in England, and came out to Australia in the same boat. They were constantly together in Melbourne and New Zealand. They were last at Mordialloc together. When he left for Sydney he gave her to understand that he would return almost immediately, but on his not doing so, she came to Sydney on Tuesday last, when he induced her to return again to Melbourne. On the following day she got a telegram announcing his marriage with Miss Carrie Moore. . She had known Mr Bigwood for five or six years. Miss Salvin further states that the pony Balgonie, that won the Wren Thousand, was in reality her pony. Mr Bigwood also allowed himself to be interviewed. He denied emphatically that there was any promise of marriage between the lady and himself. He had known Miss Salvin for two or three years in Victoria and New Zealand, and also in England. As a matter of fact, they came out on the same boat. He was greatly surprised at receiving the writ. He intended to -fight it. When informed of the rumour that Miss Moore's former fiance was. coming to Australia, he replied, "I knew that. My wife had sent a cable message to London telling the gentleman not to come." The case was on Friday last settled out of Court, Miss Salvin receiving a certain sum of money and the impounded iriotor car.
