No further news has been heard of the escaped prisoner, John Bishop, who disappeared from the Takapuna while coming up on that vessel in charge of Warder Brophy the other day. Although the steamer was thoroughly searched, never a sign of the man was discovered. I'eople of imaginative sight have, however, seen the man In numerous parts of the Manukau, where it was suggested he might have escaped, about a dozen having vouchsafed to the vision of a head swimming in the waters, although none agree to. one locality. One person affirmed to the police authorities that he saw Bishop coming up the harbour on the Rarawa, while another declared lie observed the missing prisoner sitting on the rudder of the Takapuna, which endows Bishop with more ability as an equilibrist than any son of Adam may safely assume without the risk of quick confusion.
