CHINESE FLOCKING IN.
ARRIVALS FROM AUSTRALIA. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Chinese in Australia, who are well aware, apparently, that the education test is to be applied in New Zealand on and after October -23rd, are flocking to this country. Three intercolonial steamers which have arrived in Wellington this week brought 43 Chinese, including 30 newcomers, who paid a total of £3000 poll tax. Last week the alien "arrivals numbered 24, mostly. newcomers. It is reported that there are more Chinese' waiting in Australia to embark for New Zealand than the steamers can carry, i The vessels are allowed to bring only one Chinese passenger to every two hundred tons of net tonnage. i
